Harness Nature’s Energy with Hordenine HCL

Nature has the ability to do many wonderful things. If you take the time to look around, it’s fascinating how many beneficial supplements come straight from mother nature. It often seems like these particular plants or herbs we extract the nutrients grow out of the ground to fulfill a specific purpose. One such compound is hordenine. Hordenine is an alkaloid that can be extracted from a number of different plant sources. Hordenine often used for energy, weight loss and even as a nootropic (brain supplement).natural energy with hordenine

Hordenine HCL Origins

In 1894, Arthur Heffter successfully extracted an alkaloid from a specific breed of cactus (Ariocarpus fissuratum). He named the substance “Anhalin”. Twelve years later, another scientist named E. Léger did his own unrelated independent study and isolated an alkaloid from germinated barley seeds (Hordeum vulgare) and named it “Hordenine”. Later on,Ernst Späthproved that, despite coming from two different sources, the two alkaloids have the same molecular structures. He then retained the name “hordinine”. Recent studies show that hordinine can be extracted from the roots of sprouting barley seeds (Hordeum vulgare), bitter orange (Citrus aurantium) and plants coming from the family of Cactaceae and Acasia [1].

Hordenine HCL Benefits

Through various studies and experiments, hordenine has been found to have a variety of benefits. The known benefits of this supplement are:

  • Increase of Energy
  • Weight Loss
  • Improved body composition – gain muscle while staying lean
  • Enhanced brain function

How Hordenine Increases Energy

Hordenine works by increasing norepinephrine in the body. This is a stress hormone which impacts parts of the brain where attention, focus and reactions are controlled. It is also an important component of the fight-or-flight response. Norepinephrine increases your heart rate, speeds up circulation and triggers the release of glucose stores, providing you with quick fuel. Hordenine’s stimulating properties also speed up your metabolism. So, your body starts releasing fuel (stored energy in the form of glucose or fat) quicker and burning it quicker as well. These factors combined can turn you into a revved-up fat burning machine. But, as anyone that’s lost fat knows, it can be tough for your weight to stabilize after you a big drop. Hordenine solves that as well. It’s believed that hordenine can reset your body’s “set point” of weight. Meaning your body will naturally make an effort to stay at your new weight and keeping the weight off is less of an uphill battle [2].

Hordenine Dosage

The recommended dose of hordenine for energy is 20mg [3]. Increase it with another 10 mg and it can be used as a performance booster which can be taken 30 minutes or an hour before starting your workout. When used as a fat burner, it is advisable to use hordenine first thing in the morning and again in six hours. There are no reports of health problems when it is mixed with other variety of ingredients, so it can be combined with caffeine when it is used as a stimulant. Hordenine can also be stacked with L-carnitine and other carbohydrate blockers.
